Season Review: Marco Andretti

In a series of blogs that will be featured throughout the offseason, I review and talk about all 21 full-time drivers of the 2013 Indycar Season one at a time. I try to be as honest as I can in these reveiws, and I would like to hear your thoughts on what I say. Enjoy:

Marco Andretti
#25 Andretti Autosport

5th in points scoring 484 points.

Best finish: 3rd (x2 St. Petersburg, Sao Paulo)
Worst finish: 20th (x3 Detroit Race 1, Milwaukee, Houston Race 2)

Best moment: Solid at Indianapolis Again
Worst moment: DNF at Milwaukee

Grade: A-

Marco Andretti had a career year! Finally, some consistency from him that has been missing all of his career. And yet, I still feel a bit letdown. No wins put a big hamper on an otherwise great season performance. It is really hard to win a championship without a win. It was apparent Marco was a new driver right away at St. Petersburg, making smart moves and keeping a clean nose. It remained that way all season. A mechanical gaff at Milwaukee saw his only DNF of the season, second only to Helio Castroneves, who did not DNF this season. Keeping a clean nose was vital to Marco's success. Andretti once again ran a solid race at Indianapolis, which has become common place for him. He is now the leader of Andretti Autosport.

Given a little more luck at tracks where he strong pace at like Pocono, Milwaukee, and Indianapolis in 2014, expect Marco to take a jab at the championship in 2014. He will once again be back with Andretti Autosport.
