Season Review: James Hinchcliffe

In a series of blogs that will be featured throughout the offseason, I review and talk about all 21 full-time drivers of the 2013 Indycar Season one at a time. I try to be as honest as I can in these reveiws, and I would like to hear your thoughts on what I say. Enjoy:

James Hinchcliffe
#27 Andretti Autosport

8th in points scoring 449 points.

Best finish: 1st (x3 St. Petersburg, Sao Paulo, and Iowa)
Worst finish: 26th (x2 Barber, Long Beach)

Best moment: First win at Long Beach
Worst moment: Out on lap one at Pocono

Grade: A-

It was a feast or famine kind of season for James Hinchcliffe. It started out great for him, winning the first race of the season and also the first race in his Indycar career at St. Petersburg. He followed that will two straight 26th place finishes. He then won another race at Sao Paulo. If you ain't first, yer last apparently. He had a poor car at Indy despite the rest of the Andretti Autosport team having blistering speed from the other four cars. He dominated the race at Iowa on his way to a win. He had more on and off performances the rest of the season, but the biggest letdown of the season was when he started on the front row of the race at Pocono before crashing on turn one lap one. That was not a very good moment. Overall, it was a very solid season for the Mayor.

Good news for everyone is James Hinchcliffe will be back with Andretti Autosport in 2014! He will be flying new colors this season, with GoDaddy leaving (don't let the door hit you on the way out) and United Fiber and Cable is onboard in 2014 with a blue and white car. Can Hinch find more consistency and bring home a better championship result?

Stay tuned for P7 Ryan Hunter-Reay!
