Season Review: Sebastien Bourdais

In a series of blogs that will be featured throughout the offseason, I review and talk about all 21 full-time drivers of the 2013 Indycar Season one at a time. I try to be as honest as I can in these reveiws, and I would like to hear your thoughts on what I say. Enjoy:

Sebastien Bourdais
#7 Dragon Racing

12th in points scoring 370 points.

Best finish: 2nd (Toronto Race 1)
Worst finish: 29th (Indianapolis)

Best moment: Toronto
Worst moment: Indianapolis

Grade: B+

Holy shit, did Sebastien Bourdais look like old Sebastien Bourdais since Toronto? Man, he destroyed in the last eight races of the season, salvaging an awful start to the season (summed up by a mistake entering the pits at Indy) to finish P12 in the championship. Bourdais was 200+ points back of the lead in the points, 21st in points following Pocono. Two podiums in Toronto, another podium at Baltimore, a top-five at Houston Race 2, and a rather great performance going at Fontana which was ruined by an incident with Will Power highlighted his season. I was so impressed with Bourdais's late season performance. I know we can't discount his early season performances, but look at who he is driving for. Dragon Racing is the Curtis Painter of Indycar.

In 2014, Bourdais will be driving for KVSH Racing in the same car that won the 2013 Indianapolis 500. That car should be much better for him than that crapwagon of a car he was driving. Look for a strong showing from him in 2014.
