Winners and Losers: Sonoma

Here are the winners, losers, and the Cone of Shame "winner" following Sonoma:

Will Power
With no mistakes, Will Power has set himself up to win the title for the first time in his career.

Ryan Briscoe
A statement race for Briscoe, showing Roger Pesnke that he wants to be right where he is in 2013. Solid flag to flag race for Ryan.

Team Chevy
I guess I was wrong in a past "Winners and Losers" segment, Chevy has now clinched the constructors championship. Congrats Chevrolet!

Rubens Barrichello
How bout them apples?! P4 for Rubens who has been wanting to leave KV. Maybe KV is making a case as to why he might stay in 2013, only time will tell. Glad to see Rubens flexing his world class driving muscles.

Scott Dixon
He had a great car all race but it was marred by issues. Getting spun out on lap one did not help. He needs to have a great weekend in Baltimore to set himself up for Fontana.

Helio Castroneves
Just think where Helio could have finished had he not gotten a penalty for a mistake on lap one. The championship could be a much different story, but now Helio is in a big hole.

James Hinchcliffe
Any chances of Hinch winning the title went out the window after having an all around terrible weekend ending with an engine issue.

Sebastien Bourdais
Let's do the math: Cold tires + Racing lapped traffic = throwing a podium out the window.

Cone of Shame

Ryan Hunter-Reay

Help me remember who blatantly took out Sato at Edmonton, Briscoe at Baltimore (both in 2011), and EJ Viso (5 laps after RHR got spun)... And Tags was super sincere and apologetic about it. I understand you're fighting for the championship and what not, but to bag on a guy for making a mistake when you've made the same mistake multiple times in the past is a bit obtuse and harsh. I expect better from a guy as nice as Hunter-Reay.

Let me know what you think.
