10 Best Turns In The World

Here are the ten best turns in the world in my opinion:

10. Senna 'S' at Autodromo de Interlagos, Sao Paulo, Brazil
Turn 1 and 2 at Interlagos produces some great action, especially at the start of the race. Named after the great Ayrton Senna.

9. Canada Corner at Road America, Wisconsin, USA
After a breathtaking trip down a straight following turn 10 and The Kink, Canada Corner is one of the most scenic turns in North America. It also produces some amazing action.

8. Wall of Champions at Circuit de Gilles Villeneuve, Montreal, Canada
Following 1999 when Damon Hill, Michael Schumacher, and Jacques Villeneuve, who all hit the wall, one of the most difficult turns in the world was dubbed "The Wall of Champions". There isn't a lot of real estate to work with, and the curbs are unpredictable, but it is vital to keep up the speed to set yourself up for turn 1. This makes for an atrocious recipe.

7. Turn 8 at Instanbul Park, Instanbul, Turkey
Turn 8 is the first of its kind, because it is actually three turns in one, and it spans 640 meters! That is seven football fields long! The amount of G's taken on this turn is enough to make any driver sore.

6. Becketts at Silverstone, Northamptonshire, England
The thing that makes Becketts amazing is when I am watching an F1 race, I am astonished at just how quick the cars can make a change in direction!

5. 130R at Suzuka Circuit, Suzuka, Japan
Named for the 130 meter radius it has, 130R is one of the quickest turns in the world, with F1 drivers taking the turn at 190mph and they don't lift!

4. The Parabolica at Autodromo Nazionale Monza, Monza, Italy
A long, right hand turn at the fastest road course in the world at Monza is difficult for more than one reason. Cars are trimmed out due to the many straights the course has, meaning cars have a tough time with the Parabolica. Drivers spend on average 7.6 seconds per lap in the Parabolica, making it one of the toughest turns in the world.

3. The Hairpin at Monaco Grand Prix, Monaco, Principality of Monaco
Moncao is the most historic Grand Prix in the world, and the hairpin turn is the trickiest corner on the track. In race conditions in an F1 car, the corner reduces speeds to 26mph, which is incredible to think about! Only the brave dare think about overtaking in that corner.

2. The Corkscrew at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, California, USA
The best corner in all of North America is The Corkscrew. A left-right chicane would be a piece of cake in any other circumstance, but when you add a 59 foot drop from start to end, that spices thing up a bit! A truly amazing corner.

1. Eau Rouge at Spa Francorchamps, Franchorchamps, Belgium
The corner that separates the brave from the not so brave, Eau Rouge is without question the greatest corner in all of motorsports. An uphill left-right combo at speeds over 190mph creates 5 G's of force on a driver, and it is a thrill to watch.
