Round 7 Power Rankings: Drivers

Here are the power rankings following round seven at Texas. Number next to driver represents change in rankings based off of last rankings:

Biggest Mover: Graham Rahal (+9)
Biggest Losers: Charlie Kimball and Takuma Sato (-5)

Justin Wilson of England, driver of the #18 Sonny's BBQ Honda Dallara, passes Graham Rahal, driver of the #38 Service Central Honda Dallara, in the final laps for the win during the IZOD IndyCar Series Firestone 550 at Texas Motor Speedway on June 9, 2012 in Fort Worth, Texas.

1. Will Power 0
He got screwed again on the oval by his pit crew. Then a mental lapse cost him any chance on the race. But make no mistake about it, Will Power is the best driver in the series right now.

2. Scott Dixon +1
Dixon had the best car before making a mental lapse, but it was clear that he didn't end up on Ganassi by accident, as he has a load of talent (if that was even a question to anyone, but once in awhile it is nice to be proven why he is so good).

3. James Hinchcliffe +1
Another quietly good race by Hinch. Am I surprised? Of course I am! I never give a GoDaddy car serious consideration when it comes to winning a race.

4. Simon Pagenaud +1
Hell of a job by Pags in his first race at Texas, with no downforce either, proving that he is one of the most talented drivers in the field.

5. Dario Franchitti -3
Ill handling car for Dario in the race. That's a shame, but he is definitely the favorite heading into The Mile.

6. Justin Wilson +4
Not enough can be said about Justin Wilson. The former F1 driver who shouldn't be doing well on ovals now has won one of the fastest ovals in the world! Who has two thumbs and is an ovalmeister?!

7. Helio Castroneves -1
A mental laps on Newgarden's part cost Helio a chance for the win, but a good result nonetheless.

8. Graham Rahal +9
Graham did great, showing us what happens when he can actually not get caught up in someone else's mess or a mechanical issue. Yes he threw away the race, but we can't take the great job that he did away from him.

9. Tony Kanaan 0
He had a winning car, except Power forgot what the difference between blocking and defending was.

10. Ryan Hunter-Reay -2
Shave the beard damn it.

11. Ryan Briscoe +2
Good race by Briscoe scoring a podium finish, and now back to the track where he won his very first race.

12. Takuma Sato -5
Sato needs to start finishing races so he can build creditably and please his growing fan base.

13. Alex Tagliani +2
Great qualifying, meh race. But at the end of the day, P9 for a one car team is right where they need to be.

14. JR Hildebrand +2
The kid can drive. He was tail happy all night, and starting towards the back and coming to the front, even after being a lap down at one point to come back and finish P5 is awesome stuff.

15. Oriol Servia -3
Oriol mechanically failed, let's see if he can recapture momentum at Milwaukee, a place he loves to race.

16. Charlie Kimball -5
Bugger to see a driver on a roll getting in a self inflicted wreck.

17. Rubens Barrichello -3
The one race Rubens was really worried about turned out to a really safe race, except he didn't even take a lap on race day.

18. Josef Newgarden 0
Pretty solid race for Josef especially since he started dead last. No excuse for the mental lapse in the pits though.

19. EJ Viso 0
Mechanical failure bites EJ in the ass, despite having a rocket of a car under him.

20. James Jakes +4
James quietly sneaked his way into the top-10, and like his teammate Justin Wilson, James isn't supposed to be doing that good on ovals, a good result for him.

21. Ed Carpenter -1
The only thing Fuzzy about Ed is his brain.

22. Sebastien Bourdais -1
He probably enjoyed spotting for a car that ran by herself all night.

23. Marco Andretti -1
Waiting patiently for Marco to actually do something.

24. Mike Conway -1
Another mechanical issue in the race. Every race he seems to have some sort of issue.

25. Katheine Legge 0
At least she finished.

26. Simona de Silvestro 0
The reign of attrition continues.

Let me know what you all think.
