Round 1 Power Rankings: Teams

Here are the powering rankings following round one at St. Petersburg. Number next to team represents change in rankings based off of last rankings:

Biggest Mover- Rahal Letterman Racing (6)
Biggest Loser- Dreyer and Reinbold Racing (5)

1. Penske Racing 0
Dominating weekend by Penske, setting the bar and making them the team to beat in 2012. Power, Briscoe, and Helio right up there in the thick of things. They need to be more modest with Will Power though, more downforce and less trim. He won't be able to run away with it like in the past.

2. Andretti Autosport 0
The team that can beat Penske. I'm not going to say they will beat Penske, but they look damn impressive, and Hinchcliffe fits in with that team, like a glove.

3. Schmidt Hamilton Motorsports +3
Great weekend for this team. They hired the right guy in Simon Pagenaud. He has the ability to win next week at Barber.

4. Chip Ganassi Racing -1
Ouchtown, population, you bro. Scott Dixon and Charlie Kimball did a great job of carrying the team, whilst Graham Rahal and Dario Franchitti fell way short of expectations.

5. KV Racing -1
EJ Viso led this team this weekend. Will EJ get #1 driver status if he keeps it up? Unimpressive weekend by Barrichello and Kanaan had the failure with the battery.

6. Sarah Fisher Hartman Racing 0
Josef Newgarden ran one of hell of a race. If they back up these results consistently, then they will start to become a premiere team in Indycar.

7. Panther Racing -2
Bugger. Someone on Panther needs to learn how to do math because JR Hildebrand had a "statement race" going for him.

8. Rahal Letterman Racing +6
Great race by Sato in front of his bosses Bobby Rahal and David Letterman. This team is back full time, and they look to be in the same form that they were in before they ended their full time operation. Got shafted by a mechanical failure, but they could have won.

9. Dale Coyne Racing 0
Slightly disappointing weekend. Wilson scored a top ten but had a brutal qualifying session, and Jakes buried himself in the tires.

10. AJ Foyt Enterprises +3
They proved they have speed. Super Tex has to be impressed with Conweezy.

11. Bryan Herta Autosport -4
They had the highest finishing place by a team using Lotus. They have their ducks in a row, the engine just needs to come around for them.

12. Dragon Racing +3
Bourdais did great, Legge did...... Well, not so great. But they fielded both cars and did a great job all weekend testing and developing the cars.

13. Dreyer and Reinbold -5
Brutal weekend. Give O the equipment and setups, and he will get  you the results.

14. HVM Racing -4
Thought they would be quicker. Time to bounce back at Barber.

15. Ed Carpenter Racing -3
Awful job by this team. Great staff, great equipment, great boss, best engine, but the worst road course driver in the field. May can't come sooner for this team.

Tell me what you think.
