On This Day: Danica Patrick Wins

On this day five years ago, April 20th, 2008, Danica Patrick won her first professional race at Twin Ring Motegi, Japan. The race was a nail biter, when Helio Castroneves was short on fuel and went into full conservation, allowing Danica Patrick, who, thanks to careful fuel management and awesome strategy by then strategist Kyle Moyer, easily overtook Helio with three laps to go. She did not look back, as she took the checkered flag and the win. The win sent shockwaves through the racing world and the media, and is still remembered today as a great moment for women everywhere.
