Power Outage

Once again, for the third straight season, Will Power has missed out on the championship. I just cannot believe it. Seriously, how can someone as talented as Will Power and someone who dominates half of the season (every season) somehow self destruct and throw away the championship year after year? And these moments don't even come in the season finale. No no no, these moments happen periodically throughout the season for Power. Here are some of the ever so costly moments for Will Power in his 2012 campaign:

Indianapolis
In no fault of his own, Will Power was collected in a crash in where Mike Conway spun his car, and hit the wall. Power hit Conway's car causing it to get airborne. Power and Conway were lucky to come out unscathed, but Power finished P28. He had a very strong car, one that might of had a chance to win the race. The loss in points was a huge hit for Power in the championship.

Iowa
This was one probably the most painful for Power as it was the most avoidable of the three. While running in the top ten at Iowa, EJ Viso, who was battling with Power, went underneath WP to try to take the position. Power did not see or get told EJ was there and pinched him down, causing them both to hit the wall. Power took full responsibility for it (good for him), but the result for him was P24.

Fontana
The nail in the coffin. While battling with Ryan Hunter-Reay for position, Will Power spun in turn one/two and smacked the wall. Power's race would not be over due to the courageous of Penske Racing, but it would ultimately seal his fate after Ryan Hunter-Reay had the drive of his life. Power just needed to finish somewhere in the top ten just to be safe, but he went for a position, and it cost him dearly.

So I guess the question that will be on everyone's mind is, can Will Power win the championship in 2012?

Let me know what you think.
