Winners and Losers: Fontana

Here are your winners, losers, and Cone of Shame "winner" following the season finale at Fontana:

Winners

Ryan Hunter-Reay
Speechless.... Ryan Hunter-Reay with the drive of his life. The car wasn't there but he still managed to drive the wheels off of it. Nothing but the best for him and I hope he enjoys the off season.

Andretti Autosport
Not only did the team race amazingly, and Marco Andretti a) raced well b) helped out his teammate at the end, but they also claimed their fourth Indycar Championship! Well done AA.

Ed Carpenter
A solid race for Ed, who was the only driver to win from a team that ran a one car operation. Now if only he could race on road courses...

'Merica
An American won the Indycar Championship and an America won the season finale on an oval in America. Maybe now Track Forum people will shut the hell up.

Losers

Alex Tagliani
Tags was so close to winning that race! Ironic how he, who jeopardized Hunter-Reay's chances in Sonoma, ended up gifting him the title!

Takuma Sato
Another great finish thrown out the window for Sato. I ran out of hands to count with how many times he has come close but not getting a result to go with it.

Ryan Briscoe
That was not a good final impression to make when your seat is on the line. Many questions for Ryan as the off season will be a long one for him.

Tony Kanaan
Man, TK had a rocket of a car and many, included myself, thought he was going to be able to pull off the win right towards the end of the race. But he still put on a great show.

Cone of Shame

Will Power

He does not get conned for his actions or what he said. In fact, he was as classy as I have ever seen him following his crash whilst also losing the championship in the final race for the third straight season. But it is because he lost the championship for the third straight season that Will Power will be wearing the Cone of Shame over the entire season.

Side note: 1) Does anyone like Jim Utter? He's utterly pathetic. 2) Farewell Bob Jenkins! You will be missed by many! 3) Great job by Team Penske to get Will Power back out there.

Let me know what you all think.
