Winners and Losers: Edmonton

Here are the winners, losers, and the cone of shame "winner" following the race at Edmonton:

Winners

Helio Castroneves and Team Penske
A great results by all of Team Penske, finishing P1, P3, and P8. Helio ran one hell of a race, picking up his second, errrrr, I mean his first win at Edmonton. The sites are set on Ryan Hunter-Reay. I even think I heard Penske whisper, "I have you now" after the race. The Death Star is coming.

Chevrolet
Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you your 2012 Indycar  Manufacturers' Championship winning constructor, Chevrolet!

Takuma Sato
Sato clearly loves Edmonton. Pole last year and a great run this year. What he was able to do under braking was fascinating to watch. He shows us again that if he could be consistent, he could be in the thick of a title chase.

Alex Tagliani
Despite having a pretty poor last stint of the race, Tags still showed what the car and team are capable of, finishing P5. Keep up the form Tags.

Losers

Andretti Autosport
Not a good day for Andretti Autosport in the bigger picture. RHR had a good run in P7 but lost a chunk of points in the lead. Hinch did nothing impressive in P12. And Marco did about as well as anyone would have expected Marco to do in P14.

KV Racing
Rubens had a small glimpse of hope after qualifying well, but it appears that was Rubens being a master in the rain rather than the car aiding him, as none of the KV drivers had an impressive race.

Panther Dreyer and Reinbold Racing
Neither car could qualify, and, apparently, they couldn't race either. A terrible weekend for Panther and Dreyer and Reinbold, the team have to better support their drivers.

Simon Pagenaud
Kimball didn't do any favors for Pagenaud, whose small chance of getting in the title chase was thrown out the window.

Cone of Shame

GWC Supporters
Man that race was terribly boring..... Not to worry, a green-white-checkered would have spiced things up!....... Oh, the race didn't finish under a yellow? Wow, now we have to talk about how good the race was rather than focusing on something that is completely stupid. Well......

And yes Jim Utter, I hate the idea because Nascar and all of their infinite wisdom came up with it. That race was awesome, and the finish had me on the edge of my seat.

Let me know what you think.
